The deadline to catch and weigh a fish for the 2017 Walleye Derby quickly approaches, anglers are struggling balancing work, family and fishing. Additional fishing pressure from an abnormal amount of anglers are making it more difficult to catch the big one.
Some anglers have been able to overcome the struggle and bring some fish to the scales. Jim Ackermann with an upgrade 10.38lb walleye. Moved Jim up a couple of spots in the standings.
Kylie Putka struggles with school, work and fishing. She was able to juggle her schedule and hit the water for the 1st time. While setting her 1st line of the evening, Kylie scored this walleye 25 feet behind the boat and before adding her inline planer board.
Gary Woods struggles to hold a pair of 9 3/4lb walleye for the camera. Gary brought the bigger of the two to the scales for a 9.82lb entry into the Walleye Derby.
